Meet refractory experts at ICR® 2020 remotely
The 63rd international Colloquium on Refractories (ICR®) 2020 will take place 16–17 September 2020 in a virtual setting for researchers and industry experts.
The digital concept will cover a virtual congress (with welcome address, keynotes and the Gustav Eirich award), a virtual scientific colloquium (with seven technical sessions and industry presentations) and a virtual industrial exhibition. A web-based tool – meet@ICR®2020 – will be provided to arrange face-to-face meetings for conference attendees, exhibitors and visitors.
The new virtual setting for ICR® 2020 aims to fulfil the ongoing needs of research and industry (suppliers and manufacturers) for exchange of information.
The supplier industries can use this virtual platform to discuss technical issues individually with all attendees.
- It’s safe! Even though we can’t meet in person, technology has made it possible to learn about the latest industry trends in a safe environment.
- It’s affordable. You won’t have to spend money on airfare, hotel, tips, or meals.
- Networking opportunities. You can still network with those in the industry online.
- Watch what you missed. The entire technical conference will be recorded, so you can take advantage of the documentary version later
- More employees can attend. With an affordable registration rate and no travel costs, you can afford to pay for more employees to attend.
More about ICR®
The International Colloquium on Refractories ICR® has been a meeting point for refractory experts for 63 years. Traditionally held in Aachen, Germany in the autumn each year, it will be run as a virtual event in 2020 for the first time.
In addition to the original format as a colloquium to exchange and discuss scientific news in dedicated sessions, ICR® today also hosts a large industrial exhibition and is thus both scientific congress and industrial fair. ICR® also provides background information in keynote talks about the future of the refractory industry and hosts the prize giving of the annual Gustav Eirich Award for PhD theses on refractories.
The International Colloquium on Refractories is hosted by the German Refractory Producers Association VDFFI and organised by the European Centre for Refractories ECREF. ICR® usually receives 500-600 attendees from more than 20 nations from all over the world.
